Metric Manufacturing Company Buyer Map

Jon Rush | Metric Manufacturing Company | October 2026

As of 14 Oct 2026

Metric Manufacturing Company makes close tolerance, high volume CNC machined parts for the automotive industry, as a Tier 1 supplier and as a Tier 2 supplier that drop ships to its customers.

This map covers the groups of organizations that buy machined parts at production volume in that market, and the roles that usually sign off on a new supplier at each.

It describes the market, not your business. Every fact about Metric here comes from your own website.

Where the buyers sit

Organizations in each group, banded on purpose. A plant is not a company, so treat each band as a rough size of the field, not a target list.

US firm counts by industry code, banded deliberately.

Who usually signs off

Machined parts at production volume are bought by a purchasing team and approved by a quality team. Both have to say yes before a part number moves.

GroupWho usually signs offWho else weighs in
Vehicle makersCommodity buyer or commodity manager for machined componentsSupplier quality engineer, advanced purchasing, program purchasing lead
Heavy duty truck makersPurchasing manager or commodity buyer for machined and cast partsSupplier quality engineer, plant materials manager

How a new supplier gets in

At a Tier 1, the buyer finds and quotes the supplier, and the supplier quality engineer approves the production part approval package before the first shipment. A supplier with a clean approval record and certified sub-suppliers is easier for both of them to say yes to.

At a vehicle maker, the commodity team sources by program, so the window opens when a new program is sourced or an existing part is moved from a supplier with delivery or quality trouble.

The second tier matters as much as the first. Many of the part makers above buy machined components from Tier 2 suppliers and need parts shipped straight to their own customers on schedule.

Where to start

Tier 1 part makers that need a Tier 2 they can trust

Your site says Metric drop ships parts when it is a Tier 2 supplier. The power train, chassis and other part makers above buy machined components this way, and their commodity buyers are the people to reach with that drop ship record.

Re-sourcing at program change

Your site describes work cells dedicated to a part or part family, and on time completion of production part approvals. That fits the buyer who is moving a high volume part number at a program change and needs it approved fast.

Quality trouble at an incumbent supplier

Your site describes a full metrology department, at least three points of inspection on every part, and multiple quality awards. Supplier quality engineers dealing with defects from a current supplier are the second door in, alongside the buyer.

Built from public federal registries and the company's own website, counts banded deliberately.
